Mission Statement
 The
mission statement of Red Skye Red Angus is:
- To promote the red angus breed
by providing the best possible genetics in our animals
for the angus breeder,
- To enjoy life,
- To continue my education, in this
case about the fitting and showing of cattle,
- To meet new and interesting people,
- To realize a return on my investment,
both monetarily and experientially.
The focus of this web site:
- To acquaint the viewer with
the quality of the animals at Red Skye Red Angus.
- To promote those animals.
- To use this site
to help promote those breeders and producers who we
have purchased from or sold to.
- To recognize Brylor
Ranch for providing me the opportunities to meet the
goals of my mission statement.
- To provide a platform
to display our photography which is another of our
interests.
 Being semi retired, but unable to do
any heavy or cold weather physical work and still wanting
to be involved in agriculture, I was very fortunate
that Bryan McKenzie agreed to become associated with
me in this endeavour. Hence the inception of Red Skye
Red Angus.
We welcome visitors at any time of
the year, but if you want to see our cattle, you have
to come to the farm in the summer (see contact
page for map), or to Brylor's
in the winter .
Being good Scots, we are partial to
anything Scottish. This explains the sentimental attachment
to Angus cattle. (There are many more practical reasons
for the choice of which all Angus breeders are aware.)
As well, it may explain a preference for the wee dram
of the amber. The use of Skye in our name reflects the
Isle of Skye in northern Scotland, which is just off
the coast from our ancestral home.
